Description
Part of the Hot Wire Extensions design project, this work uses freeform shapes made of heating wires, around which a mixture of discarded SLS 3D printing nylon powder and sand begins to grow. As electricity passes through, the wires heat up and melt the surrounding plastic, forming structures that emerge as if they were growing plants. These solidified forms gradually transform into functional structures.
