Description
A sculptural piece created by joining hundreds of fragments of tree bark and casting them in bronze. While the orientation of the bark forms shapes impossible in nature, the artist intuitively sought out compositions that felt harmonious and organic. The resulting form is neither wholly natural nor entirely artificial, exploring the shifting relationship between nature and humanity in the age of biotechnology, and questioning what we perceive as natural.
